“The parent-centred approach feels revolutionary.”

“Carolyn and Ingrid created a very informal and friendly atmosphere to learn to support each other”
“I can confirm that we have undertaken an NVR course (in early 2020) facilitated by Carolyn Morgan and Ingrid Ayling and we continue to have facilitated support meetings.
We have nothing but positive feedback to give because NVR and everything we have gained/learned from the course we did has changed the life of our family.
Having approached our parenting from a number of different perspectives, NVR provided a new way of looking at things for us. The manner in which the course breaks things down into practical skills and learning alongside others (who have experienced very similar difficulties) proved extremely helpful. The bonds we have formed with fellow participants have proved invaluable in the months since the course finished. This has included a WhatsApp group and a meeting of our families. The monthly support meetings facilitated by Carolyn and Ingrid (as is the WhatsApp group) have also been immensely helpful. We both feel that the course itself and the support we have received afterwards have improved our coping skills and strategies immensely. Some specific examples of these would be being open with friends and family with what support is helpful, knowing how to care for ourselves and sustaining our relationship and having a greater understanding of our children’s needs.
Carolyn and Ingrid have proven to be enthusiastic, engaging, and on many occasions, appear to have gone beyond what we would have expected in terms of commitment to the group. They always appear well prepared having discussed course content and have always been willing to take feedback with regard to how to improve their approach. In all aspects of providing the course and the continued support from them, we find it impossible to find fault.”
“I’ve found the course very helpful. Having read the book prior to asking if there was a course I could attend, I find the hands on approach of sharing each others’ experiences and receiving practical suggestions for support invaluable. It’s reassuring to share concerns with other parents, regardless of the different stages of adoption. I do advocate the course for early adopters or even prior to adoption to enable a tool kit to be in place to ‘nip in the bud’ the inevitable negative behaviour or responses from both children and parents. This, together with a facility for ongoing support/reassurance, would help to encourage positive mindsets and therefore positive relationships and connection in all participants, be they the adopted children or the adoptive parents and indeed the wider support network.”
“this course to be honest has saved my life, and my relationship with my adopted daughter – we had been going through such dark & difficult times. I cannot recommend it highly enough, & I really wish I’d had access to it earlier”
