- Be prepared!
- Know this is an issue
- Allow plenty of time try not to rush
- Remember to think younger
- Move away from the hallway or the usual place
- Think about the communication model – I can see you don’t want to put your shoes on
- Use a device to support regulation
- Put shoes on in the car
- Distract in a playful way, toy, book, game
- Provide something to suck or crunch
- Feely bag of sensory toys
- Write a note or use visual prompts to distract or support
